Abstract

"This report presents the results from the Scottish Employer Skills Survey 2010 (SESS 2010) and contains information from employers about: the importance of skill-related issues compared with other challenges facing employers; the types of jobs in which skill shortages and gaps are most and least prevalent; the causes of skill shortages and gaps, their consequences and employers’ response to them; and the nature and extent of training paid for by employers. In addition, new questions on the impact of the economic downturn and why employers who train do not train more were included in the 2010 survey." - Page 5.
