Additional Information: | This short Briefing Note draws on two documents created for Education and Library Boards (“the Boards”) by a working group representing the five Boards. The guidelines for the assessment of pupils with special educational needs (SEN) were produced in response to concerns expressed in a Northern Ireland Audit Office Report that differences in practice across the Boards had developed in relation to the criteria used for initiating a statutory assessment of a child’s special educational needs. |
