The guidelines for the assessment of pupils with special educational needs (SEN) were produced in response to concerns expressed in a Northern Ireland Audit Office Report that differences in practice across the Boards had developed in relation to the criteria used for initiating a statutory assessment of a child’s special educational needs. |
